Be Obsessed with ImprovementIn life, business, fitness or personal development what are you doing to improve your game? Are you investing in yourself? Are you taking time to become mentally, physically and spiritually stronger? Or, have you become content with  the state quo?

What could you learn dedicating only 30 minutes a day of reading or listening to a podcast a day? How would your health change if you set aside 30 minutes a day exercising and eating right? Could you reset your mind and attitude with 30 minutes of meditation at the start of your day?

You know the answer.

Quit stagnating! Listen to that inner voice that is pushing you to greatness and respond with action.

Time to push past good enough and BE GREAT!

Have a GREAT Week!

Pressure refinesThis weekend I thought a lot about pressure as our team has been under the gun to deliver on a couple of big projects. Some days it seems like the pressure is overwhelming.
It’s interesting though as I reflect,  our team has made our greatest strides when the pressure is on.  No we don’t want to be under pressure all the time but pressure can drive us to innovate, it can drive us to discover new ways to do things, it provides an environment for us to push ourselves.  In the end, the key is embracing the pressure and learning from each experience so that we become better individuals and ultimately a better team.
Reflecting on the growth that has stemmed from pressure, I’ve noticed that each of our team members have become better communicators both internally and with customers. Pressure has forced us to collaborate more often enabling us to share ideas that have lead to a better solution. It’s a continual process. Some days we are better at embracing the pressure than others. Will the pressure ever go away? No, we would stagnate if it did. Our natural tendency it to complain and revolt against pressure. However, I find that when we embrace the pressure we grow in unexpected ways that never would’ve happened if we were simply left to ourselves.

Today I had to take a walk, to take a breath, to clear my head and count my blessings.
Some days life can beat on you. It can keep punching – keep coming at you until you feel like throwing in the towel. However, you can’t stop. Even when life keeps punching stay in the ring. You have to go the distance. Keep pushing back – find and develop the inner strength that will help you succeed.
Don’t give up!
Choose to take control.
Choose to be proactive!
Choose to Do it!
You got this!

One of the most challenging aspects of building your business, sales territory, etc. is being patient.  We live in a world of such immediacy that being patient can be challenging. Make sure you are working towards your goals, putting in every effort, nurturing every relationship, building your team then be patient for the results. They will come. Don’t quit just because it’s taking longer than you think.

Brian Wiley - Idaho's Money Show

Brian Wiley – Idaho’s Money Show

This past week I had the opportunity to be a guest on Idaho’s Money Show – CapEd’s Business Hour with host Brian Wiley and Action Coach Alison Dunn on KIDO.  What a fun time to sit down and talk about my company Zenware, custom software development, mobile apps and entrepreneurship. Brian and Alison are phenomenal hosts and I really enjoyed the conversation.

I think everyone loves talking about what they do, especially when they are proud of what has been accomplished. Interesting thing telling your story.

Fortunately for me, the day of our broadcast occurred on a particularly challenging day and week. Yes, I said fortunately. It was one of those days. You know the day – a day when everything is a grind,  when doubts claw at your mind to pull you away from the big picture, clouding your vision and distracting you from ultimate goal. Sometimes the minutia of the day can be overwhelming.

Don’t stay in that dark space! Take control. Refocus and get busy solving problems that will take you to your goal.

I have discovered that revisiting your story provides a personal yard stick to see how far you’ve come, what you’ve accomplished and yes, even what you could have done better.

As we were wrapping up the show Brian asked me the following question, “If you could give one word of advice to aspiring entrepreneurs what would it be?”

That’s a tough one, how do you capture 6 1/2 years of building a company in one nugget. I guess I’d have to say… Go for your dream! Don’t wait! Take the leap! Recognize there will be tough days. Be willing to work  through those days. It won’t but easy but I can promise the journey is worth it!

May you discover and capture success as you pursue your dreams.

Thank you Brian and Allison for the invitation.

Go-BigThe only person you are destined to become is the person YOU DECIDE to be.
Do you see obstacles or OPPORTUNITY? YOU are in CONTROL. No one else.

Yes, others can push, motivate, inspire and cheer you on, but ONLY YOU can put forth the EFFORT achieve amazing things.

Quit looking at what can’t be done. Look at what CAN be done.

Change you focus. Toss aside the negative. Decide today to put your energies and effort into kicking open doors that seem closed. A shift in mindset and actions will set you on a whole new path to success.

Don’t Wait! Take control now!

Be BOLD. Destiny is not accidental!
